GCV Sunday Pennant round 4
Once again, we were lucky with the weather for Sunday Pennant yesterday, with the rain coming after matches were finished.
Thanks to this week’s host clubs, Axedale, Heathcote and Castlemaine.
Well, what an interesting last round we are in for.
Division 1
This has been the closest season in recent history with only two points separating the top team from the bottom team. Bendigo is on top at the moment, but it’s a tight race between Belvoir Park and Castlemaine who are only separated by holes difference, and it is still mathematically possible for anyone of five teams to make the final, with Neangar Park and Bendigo Sports Academy still mathematical possibilities.
Division 2
It is also mathematically possible for four of the eight teams to make the Division 2 final with Neangar Park Gold and Axedale leading the way at the moment, but Belvoir Park Green, Neangar Park Green and Castlemaine still remote possibilities.
Division 3
Belvoir Park, Bendigo White and Kyneton are all tied on six points and any two of these three teams can make the final.
Open Division A
This is the only division where the finalists have already been decided with Castlemaine and Belvoir Park Gold set to contest the final.
Open Division B
This is also a close contest. Bendigo White has secured their spot in the final, but it will be a battle between Belvoir Park Green, Mitiamo and Axedale to decide who takes them on in the final.
We now have a week off this week for the Labour Day weekend, but we are looking forward to round 5 on Sunday, March 15
